Rare and interesting ex-voto of Osiris God, lying in a sarcophagus-like.

 

Sarcophagus tank :

Terracotta enhanced with vertical white and brown lines on its different sides.

Dimensions : 16,3 x 7,6 cm. Height : 5,2 cm.

 

Osiris is headdressed with the atef crown which has ostrich feathers on its both sides ; he is holding the ouas sceptre, with one end surmounted by jackal-headed Seth God ; he is wrapped in bandages like those which covered mummies.

 

Blacked terracotta ; Osiris is lying on waste tissue.

Height : 14,9 cm.

 

Provenance : previous French collection of Paris.

Previously bought at Démons et Merveilles gallery, Paris, in 1998.
