Rare amulet of a hybrid-form protective divine powers
Late Dynastic Period (C. 664-332 B.C.)
Beautiful and rare amulet of a hybrid-form protective divine powers with a dwarf's body, his hands resting on the hips, bird's wings and tail and a ram's head with horns curled into the cheeks. Its head is surmounted by the full moon disk, placed between two horns, and the uraeus. A suspension loop is behind the shoulders (partly broken).
Pale-blue glazed composition ; fine technique.
Height : 1,57 in.
Characteristic of the Late Dynastic Period, this type of monstrous figure was described in contemporary magic papyrus vignettes. This hybrid assemblage of deities allowed them to express their different powers.
